Tropical Storm Ida is still out there, drifting east across the central Atlantic and away from the Caribbean.
Forecast models indicate the storm isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and will linger for a while.
At 5 a.m., Tropical Storm Ida was 1,155 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands, moving towards the east near six miles per hour.
It has maximum sustained winds of near 40 miles per hour and little strength is forecast during the next 48 hours, the National Hurricane Centre said, and it will not impact the Caribbean.
Tropical Storm Ida formed last Friday, September 18 as the ninth named storm of the 2015 Atlantic hurricane season. (Caribbean360)
