Section of Friars Hill Road to be closed on Sunday 8th April

This serves as notice to allow for the safety of road users during construction works associated with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project which is a grant being provided by the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Fund (UKCIF).

The project is now at phase two (2) – From West Indies Oil Pond to the Public Cemetery.

Saturday: From 7:00am until

ON SUNDAY 8th April, 2018:  A section of Friars Hill Road will be closed.


DIVERSION(S): Mahogany Drive (opposite the public cemetery and Lauchchland Benjamin Drive (the road leading through Woods Mall)

The closed area of the road is highlighted red  while the diversions are highlighted green

ONLY A SECTION OF THE ROAD WILL REMAIN CLOSED: On Friars Hill Road – near the woods pond will be closed for the installation of a metal sleeve beneath the road pavement.  Road users are urged to exercise extreme caution when traversing in the construction site.  

Warning signs will be visible for all road users who are being asked to proceed with caution for the duration of the road works. Local access will be maintained.
