Gaston Browne has sent a message of condolence to the President of the Republic of Cuba, His Excellency Miguel Diaz-Canel following a plane crash in Santiago de las Vegas on Friday last, minutes after takeoff, killing over 100 passengers. EMS Successfully Execute Daring Rescue Operation Between Wallings Dam and Rendezvous Beach

In what has been described as nothing short of brilliant, the Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Fire Brigade performed a daring rescue operation in the hills between Wallings Dam and Rendezvous Beach on Sunday. Police Probe Death of Two Elderly UK Visitors

Police are currently conducting investigations into two separate deaths of two UK visitors, who died suddenly while on island. Around 4 pm on Sunday, 80yrs-old Brian Kelly of the UK was rushed to the Mount St. Johns Medical Center by the EMS, after he suddenly fell ill onboard a cruise ship docked at the Heritage Quay port. Another Caribbean Charity Receives Funding from CIBC FirstCaribbean for Haiti Relief Effort

A second Caribbean charity has received funding from CIBC FirstCaribbean to assist with relief efforts in Haiti, which was severely affected by the passage of Hurricane Matthew last month. The body of young Prince returns home

A week after passing away at the Hospitalier Universitaire de Martinique, the body of young burn victim Jayden Prince arrived at the V C Bird International Airport this afternoon. Following a two hour delay, the remains of the three year old landed at 2:47 pm and in the presence of his father, Eddy Prince, one of his uncles and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health Walter Christopher, the black draped coffin was removed from the Regional Security Services Airline and loaded into the hearse.

The body of fire victim, Nurse Gayan Williams, returns home

  The body of one of the victims from the fire that occurred in Jennings returned to Antigua on Tuesday (yesterday) from Guadeloupe via a regional security service airline. At approximately 1pm on Tuesday, the body of Nurse Gayan Williams arrived at the V C Bird International Airport and was met on the tarmac by her sister Nicole Williams, her Fiancé` Eddy Prince, one of Prince’s brothers, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and the Environment Walter Christopher and other officials from the Ministry.

Police Uses Tear Gas to Dispense Crowd: Urges Revellers to Head Home after Tragic Accident

After the freak accident involving a young lady at the close of Carnival Last Lap Session on Tuesday, police were forced to launch tear gas cannons in a bid to disburse revellers. A female revealer apparently with Myst Carnival camp was reportedly crushed to death by a trawler. The victim’s name has not yet been confirmed by police. According to eye witnesses she was situated on the top of the Carnival Band’s moving trailer when she fell and was subsequently crushed to death by the heavy wheels.
