Antigua & Barbuda one of 12 countries entered into the Youth Olympics

Antigua’s very own Tiger Tyson has successfully won the North American and Caribbean Youth Olympic Qualifiers (under 19) kite-boarding event. At only 15 years of age, he has made history by being the youngest in the 15 -18 years category. This is a historical moment as it’s the first ever Olympic qualifiers held in this discipline, and for the first time Antigua & Barbuda is now one of 12 countries entered into the Youth Olympics to be held in Argentina.       Photo from IKA.

Antigua & Barbuda Sets 14 New OECS Records on Route to 3rd Place Finish at Recent Meet

Fourteen (of a total thirty-two) records that fell over this past weekend at the the 27th annual OECS Swimming Championships in St. Lucia came at the hands of the Antigua and Barbuda swimming contingent. Eight records were set by St. Lucia; five records by St.Vincent, and five set by champion Grenada. Nike Ranks ABBA Senior Men’s Team in Top 80 Worldwide

In a recent International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Senior Men World ranking presented by Nike, the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association National Senior Men’s Team ranked 76th out of 213 countries. Of the 213 FIBA member countries worldwide, only 149 were ranked in the list presented by Nike. Over the weekend, the historic National 3×3 Youth Basketball Team, comprising of Judah Ferris, Sheldon Gomes, Eric Joseph Jr., and Ahmani Browne, competed in the first ever International Basketball Foundation (IBF) Antilles 3×3 International Youth Championships held in St. Lucia.
