Sandals Foundation Marks Four Years of Swalings School of Soccer Sponsorship

This new school year marks the fourth consecutive year that the Sandals Foundation is sponsoring 15 Antiguan youths to participate in the Swalings School of Soccer year-long programme. The sponsorship ensures that the young people receive full soccer kits, coaching, mentorship and opportunities to compete in local and international tournaments. Football Against Obesity Kick off

First form students will this term engage in a six-week programme, aimed at promoting physical activity and wellness. The programme which is dubbed Football Against Obesity will be launched in Antigua and Barbuda on September 17th. The secondary school-based programme targeting eleven to twelve-year-olds, their physical education teachers and coaches will include classroom discussions, and physical and recreational exercises relating to football. Antigua’s very own Tiger Tyson has successfully won the North American and Caribbean Youth Olympic Qualifiers (under 19) kite-boarding event. At only 15 years of age, he has made history by being the youngest in the 15 -18 years category.
