Gaston Browne, thousands are looking forward to the second staging tomorrow, Saturday 13th January 2018. Canadian Government Providing EC One Hundred Thousand Dollars to Barbuda Relief

The Canadian government is providing 100 thousand EC dollars towards the Barbuda relief following Hurricane Irma and is looking to further support the reconstruction programme on the sister-isle. High Commissioner of Canada to Antigua and Barbuda Her Excellency Marie Legault made the announcement Thursday during a signing ceremony with NODS Director Philmore Mullin at the office on American Road. Small Businesses Granted Extension to deplete Personalized Plastic Bags

The Ministry of Health and the Environment is giving department stores, bookshops, and other small businesses that distribute ‘personalized’ plastic bags to their customers additional time to deplete their existing stock. The phasing out period for these ‘personalized’ plastic bags – that is plastic bags that have the name of the store printed on them – has been extended until December 31st, 2018. Police are seeking the help of the general public in knowing the whereabouts of 36 year old Jason Jermaine Reynolds and 36 year old Shagon Sheldon O’Brien both of Martin’s Village.They are both wanted in connection with Drug Trafficking Offences. Police went to their Martin’s Village home on Wednesday January 10, 2018 to execute a warrant and in the process of doing so they fled from the property and have managed to elude the Police since. Over 100 Barbudans indicate willingness to purchase land

The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda, has been informed of the numerous Barbudans who have indicated their readiness to purchase lands in Barbuda. This comes on the heels of the recently passed Barbuda Land Amendment Act (2017), giving born Barbudans or Barbudans by parentage, the right to purchase their household plots for as low as one dollar.
