The Rotaract Club of Antigua Installs a New Executive

The Rotaract Club of Antigua recently held its Annual Installation Cocktail and Awards Ceremony on Saturday 25th June, 2016, at the Atlantic View Restaurant to officially install its new Board of Directors and celebrate the year’s accomplishments. This new Board of Directors will oversee the club for the next Rotaract year; July 2016 to June 2017.

The new board consists of President Jessica Challenger, Immediate Past President and Vice-President Mykel Samuel, Secretary Rickisha Terry, Treasurer Wazir Browne, Community Service Director Abigail Burke, Professional Development Director Shari Thomas, International Service Director Jannelle Ambrose, and Club Service Director Oliver Clarke.

rotarct anu-logoDuring the last year, the club celebrated twenty-nine (29) years of continued service to the community, and as such engaged in many activities to mark this milestone. The club has been known for its numerous donations and projects geared towards assisting the less fortunate in our communities.

Rotaract President Jessica Challenger, in her address stated that “she really wants to propel the club’s presence even further than it is now.” She hopes that “the community projects that are done by the Club inspires and encourages others to want to give back to their Community wherever it may be.” The president’s theme for the upcoming the Rotaract Club of Antigua is Inspire. Empower. Achieve. Which goes in tandem with Rotary International’s theme ‘Serving Humanity’ and the Rotaract District 7030 Theme ‘Do Better, Be Better.’

The Rotaract Club of Antigua is a wonderful opportunity for young persons between the ages of 18 to 30, to make valuable contributions to society as well as to promote their professional and personal development, while forming friendships.  Meetings are held every first, second and third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Rotary House on Factory Road, opposite Sagicor Financial Centre.
