Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne is today in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for the 64th Meeting of the OECS Authority which opens on Wednesday.
The meeting will address among other things an OECS Health Insurance, an application by Saint Martin for associate status in the OECS, an initiative on transport for Agricultural Produce through the region and an update on Adaptation to Climate Change: Sustainable Land Management Policies.
Prime Minister Browne and Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister Allan Chastanet will make a presentation on a Joint Diplomatic Mission in Morocco, which will see countries in the OECS collaborating on the establishment and operations of a diplomatic mission in Morocco.
Ambassador Colin Murdoch who is accompanying Prime Minister Browne to Saint Vincent will provide the Authority with a schedule for the OECS Assembly which is located in Antigua and Barbuda.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Browne and Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs the Hon. Steadroy Benjamin attended a Consultative and Legislative Drafting Workshop of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) also in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The workshop focused on the Banking Act amendments and a roadmap towards enactment.
Prime Minister Browne returns to the country on Thursday when he will chair the weekly meeting of the Cabinet. Health and Environment Minister the Hon. Molwyn Joseph is serving in the capacity of Acting Prime Minister.
