Mother remanded for ‘Attempted Murder’ of daughter Shaveesa Gasper

Police reported that the mother of the teenage girl who, suffered severe burns about her body on New Year’s Day has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

On Tuesday the police arrested and charged 39yrs-old Nicola “Nikki” Pitter of New Winthropes with Attempted Murder.

Government had moved swiftly to provide further medical assistance to young burn victim and reigning Teen Explosion Title holder, Shaveesa Gasper, following the New Year’s Day incident at her home in New Winthorpes where she was allegedly set alight by her mother.

She appeared in the All Saints Magistrate on Tuesday before Magistrate Emmanuel, and was remanded to prison.

Pitter is accused of setting her teenage daughter, Shaveesa Gasper on fire on the afternoon of January 1st 2016.

According to medical reports, the teen suffered up to 40 percent burns about her body, and had to be flown out of the country for further medical treatment.
