Drastic speaks to young people about intellectual property as ambassador

Drastic is assisting the Antigua & Barbuda Intellectual Property & Commerce Office (ABIPCO) in raising public awareness and building respect for Intellectual Property. As part of the education campaign, Drastic will be speaking to young people at various schools across Antigua about his experience in the musical industry and why protecting intellectual property is so important.

Girl Power to Feature Top Soca Acts

Girl Power is the first event of the Soca Therapy Carnival events’ series produced by the Marketing Machine and sponsored by the Source Clothing Company and Digicel. Island Academy will hold a concert entitled “Music For Life” headlined by Arturo Tappin, one the Caribbean’s greatest sax players. Tappin has dazzled audiences at the Soho Jazz Festival, The Bob Marley Birthday Bash and Reggae Sunsplash as well as headlining Jazz Festivals throughout the Caribbean. He has also performed for two American presidents. The “Music for Life concert” is a fundraiser for Island Academy’s scholarship programme.

Lady Gaga expected to be 2011's top-earning act

Lady Gaga is set for another chart-topping feat in 2011: She's predicted to be the year's highest-earning act.

The 24-year-old banked a whopping $64 million in 2010, and she's expected to nearly double her earnings this year with an expected haul between $100 million and $130 million.

Fueling her climb to the top is her ongoing Monster's Ball tour, which reportedly grosses $2 million per show.

Meanwhile, the planned May 23 release of her next album, "Born This Way," reportedly stands to bring in another $20 to $30 million, and her merchandising deals could add another $10 million, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Wyclef Jean: Fugees reunion 'not meant to be'
