First official look at Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man

Is your Spidey sense is a-tingling? Ours is, too. Sony Pictures has released the first official photo of Andrew Garfield suited up as Spider-Man, an image that cleverly encompasses his dual personalities of high school student Peter Parker and the crime-fighting, web-slinging wall crawler.

The British actor headlines the Marc Webb-directed reboot of the mega-grossing franchise, which is due to hit theaters in July 2012.

And based on the photo, this incarnation of the superhero has an additional power: He can get clawed in the face but still maintain a perfect coif.

The film co-stars Emma Stone as Parker's teenage crush Gwen Stacy, Martin Sheenas his "with great power comes great responsibility"- imparting uncle, Ben, and Sally Field as his beloved Aunt May.

"I feel like a kid in my pajamas," Garfield told the London Guardian last month of slipping into the iconic outfit. "I don't take it lightly, and I feel incredibly lucky that I get to wear spandex for the next few months."

He also had a specific goal in mind as he got in shape for the iconic role.< ;/p>

"I want to feel more flexible than I've ever felt. I want to feel powerful. You don't want to just be a pack of meat," he told the February issue of Details. "It has to be an open body. It does something to your psyche, and it does something to the way you move."
