The Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident in Golden Grove that left a 27-year-old man nursing a gunshot wound at the hospital.
It is alleged that around 1:30am on Saturday, a man about 5ft-8ins in height, medium built with dark complexion, armed with a gun and wearing a mask, entered the home of a Golden Grove family and held them at gunpoint.
Leo Tonge was shot and wounded in the upper portion of his body after he pursued the intruder unto the street just outside his home.
It was reported that the man turned and fired several shots before he fled the scene.
The man was rushed to the Mount St. John's Medical Center (MSJMC) by Emergency Medical Service (EMS) technicians where he underwent surgery.
His condition is reported to be stable, but doctors at the hospital have reported that the injury is serious. No one else was injured in the incident.
The police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
